Subject/Spaces examines the human relationships with architecture—revealing how it attracts, moves, and repels us. Each image elicits a distinct emotional response from the viewer through its depiction of the built environment—those spaces we inhabit and move through—while on the whole, the minimalist structures featured in the photographs call forth an inviting tranquility and calm.

As most of the spaces we engage with are not built by us, we are subject to the design and application of their construction. As a result, awareness of our sensory-emotional response to architecture lets us claim it for ourselves.
